May 2018- The NIH/NIGMS (R35 MIRA GM126935) funded our research program “EPR Spectroscopic Studies of Membrane Proteins” for five years.
This project will investigate the structure of membrane proteins and ion channels associated with heart disease.
July 2018- The NSF (CHE-1807131) funded our research project “Investigating Membrane Proteins with Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy” for three years.
The research will study the structural and dynamic properties of pinholin membrane proteins that are involved in cell lysis.
June 2017- The NIH (AG054018) funded a project “Structure and Genesis of Tau Aggregates” for five years.
This research is a collaborative project with Dr. Jeff Kuret’s lab at Ohio State University. We will focus on the studying the structural properties of the tau protein which is directly associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
July 2017- The NSF (MRI 1725502) funded a new instrument “MRI-Acquisition of Pulsed EPR Spectrometer” for the Ohio Advanced EPR lab at Miami University.
Funds from this grant were used to purchase a state-of-the-art pulsed Q-band EPR spectrometer.
