Take advantage of your time in Washington. The program goes by quickly, but it is truly an amazing city.

The streets are set up in a very orderly manner. Lettered streets run East-West. Numbered streets run North-South. “State” streets run diagonally. L’Enfant planned the city in quadrants: NW, NE, SW, SE and after a few days you’ll know D.C. as you know your hometown.

Washington is very different from Oxford, Ohio. It is important not to walk alone at night and to be aware of your surroundings. While Washington and the Woodley Park neighborhood are very safe, it is important not to place yourself in dangerous positions. Use your best judgment and be safe when out at night.
