The Institute for Food Farm’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program is open for summer and fall subscription sign ups! The Farm CSA is entering its sixth year in partnership with Miami University’s Institute for Food to promote the mission of sustainably sourced local agriculture. We’re so excited to start this next season with you.
This year the CSA summer season starts May 20th and goes through August 26th and the fall season is from September 2nd to December 9th. The student share price has been set at $100. This cost covers fifteen weeks of three or four fresh seasonal items from the farm such as basil, peppers, broccoli, and zucchini. For less than seven dollars a week you can eat healthier and cheaper than buying at a supermarket. All of the vegetables and fruits grown on the Farm are organic and use no artificial chemical fertilizers. Pickups for each week will be Thursday afternoons at the Cook Fieldhouse.
If you would like to support the farm without purchasing a share, workshare volunteering is a great way to gain service hours and support the Institute for Food. At the end of each volunteer day, you will be able to take home some of that day’s harvest.
