Miami University’s Institute For Food is teaming up with the FARM club to host a Build Your Own Salad event on Thursday, April 13th. Are you interested in tasting a real Farmer’s salad (step aside Dividend’s)? The Institute For Food and FARM Club are preparing to ramp up our presence on campus, and this event will be a launching ground—come be a part of it! We also just want to spice up the semester with something a little different and delicious.
The salads will feature spinach and romaine bases from our very own student-run farm, as well as ingredients from other local farmers. To add a little flavor, we will feature homemade dressings (and their recipe cards) made from local ingredients. As if that isn’t awesome enough, there will also be piping hot cornbread and jam made from local Oxford ingredients. My mouth is watering just typing this…
The event will be hosted at cozy Western Lodge from 6-8pm. We welcome anyone interested in sustainability, health, or agriculture (as well as anyone looking for a tasty meal) to come build themselves a FREE salad. Lettuce build relationships with like-minded people over dinner.
Did this blog post spark your interest? We hope so! And if it did, mark your calendars (April 13th at 6!) and text some friends to come with! While you’re at it, why not like the FARM club on Facebook? We want YOU to come fill your belly and hangout with us. See you then 🙂
A formal RSVP isn’t required, but please help us get an approximate headcount so we don’t run out of ingredients. Let us know here (https://goo.gl/forms/5R6xSFLaX5O4KXmm1) if you can come!
