Size of Classes

(Academic Policy/MUPIM 10.2/OAC 3339-10-02)

The maximum size of each class section is fixed by the department chair with the approval of the dean of the appropriate academic division and Provost and is based on the optimum size for effective teaching and the capacity of available classrooms. After a section or course is closed, only the department chair has the authority to add students to it, and only after he or she has first ascertained from the Office of the University Registrar that a classroom is available.
