Regional E-Learning Faculty Learning Communities 2016-2017

We are still accepting applications for two new Faculty Learning Communities with Regional E-Learning. Details below.

 

FLC: Online Course Development with Regional E-Learning

 

The Regional E-Learning office is excited to pilot a new Online Course Development FLC as an alternative approach to the regular accelerated course development process.  The cohort will be delivered in a blended learning format that incorporates face-to-face and online learning opportunities.  It is designed for faculty that may be new to online learning and are interested in developing an online course while aligning with nationally recognized quality design standard, Quality Matters.  The faculty cohort with actively collaborate and support each other through learning opportunities over the academic year to expand their knowledge and expertise in the development and design of a new regional online course.

 

 Amount:    Each participant will receive professional development fund opportunities including $1000 (Online Course Development Stipend) + $250 (Fall FLC Activities) +$250 (Spring FLC Activities)

 Eligibility:    Faculty and Instructional Staff

 Prerequisite:    Successful Completion of E1: Online Faculty Training Course by August 1, 2016

 Selection:    Min. of 3, Max. of 8 Participants to develop/design a new Regional online course

FLC: Student Engagement in Online Courses

 

Student demand for flexible learning opportunities via online courses offered through Miami University Regional Campuses continues to grow. The Online Student Engagement FLC will guide faculty in an exploration of theoretical perspectives and pragmatic practices related to student engagement in online courses in higher education.  The goal of the FLC is to improve academic achievement while increasing student and faculty satisfaction with their online learning experiences.

 

 Amount:    Each participant will receive $500 in professional development funds

 Eligibility:    Faculty and Instructional Staff who teach online courses.

 Selection:    The FLC’s facilitators and Regional E-Learning Leadership will select a limited number members
