Remembering Dr. Kenneth Glass

Dr. Kenneth M. Glass passed away on October 21, 2017, at the age of 95. He was a former Associate Dean of the School of Education and Chair of the former Department of Educational Media. Dr. Glass was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, administrator, educator, community member, and an ardent supporter of Miami University, where he spent 25 years (1963-1987) as a professor and administrator. 

One of his dear friends and colleague Dr. Charles Teckman remembers Dr. Glass fondly, saying; “He was a great colleague, and I was pleased to know his friendship. He was a popular administrator in the school of EHS, a genuine hero, both as a soldier and a civilian.” Dr. Glass treated everyone with love and respect and was deeply admired by Miami University Colleagues. Dr. Glass was also a decorated Naval Aviator, and was assigned to the USS Hornet, he co-authored”The Hornets and Their Heroic Men,” which he spoke about in his later years. He joined the reserves and retired as a Captain with the Naval Reserves after serving for 30 years. In 1995 he was selected to be a member of the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame.
