Con/Temp Gallery – 2003

For a 24-hour period October 2003, the work of the Over-the-Rhine Design/Build Studio constituted the inaugural exhibit of the Con/Temp gallery in Lexington, Kentucky. The new Con/Temp Contemporary Art Center is actually a 15-foot moving van that has been retrofitted to be a roving art museum. Conceived by the artists Bruce Burris and Kurt Ghode, Con/Temp’s mission is to help communities address social and political issues through art. For 24 non-stop hours, the moving exhibit’s scheduled stops included an architect’s office, a construction company, a private residence, an apartment complex, and the parking lot of WalMart.
